Courage

Courage

Middle English “denoting the heart, as the seat of feelings”: from Old French corage, from Latin cor “heart”.

Courage is a virtue, the fortitude that we put into play when we need to go beyond an obstacle, and it is the most adequate response to our fears. It is not the absence of fear but the presence of fear. It is not a sign of weakness but of strength.

It is the ability to decide and to give up, to continue or to surrender.

It takes courage, not to prove it, but to know that – at all times – we have acted from the heart.
